Presented by: CherylAnne Amendola - CherylAnne Amendola has been teaching American and world history for the last 18 years. She graduated from Montclair State University with a BA in Political Science and from Teachers College, Columbia University with an MA in Social Studies Education and an MA in American History from Pace University in partnership with the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History. She was named 2017 New Jersey History Teacher of the Year by the Gilder Lehrman Institute and 2023 Middle Level Social Studies Educator of the Year by the National Council of the Social Studies. CherylAnne published her first book in November 2019, On the Backs of the Enslaved, and is the host of the Teaching History Her Way podcast. Delve into the contributions of women of women at war in two separate periods: the American Revolution and World War II. Registration - Building Bridges: Driving Social Emotional Learning Through Conversations Webinar Series
Presented by: Teach Different This workshop series teaches a powerful classroom discussion technique that uses claims, counterclaims, and essential questions fueled by famous quotations from renowned leaders. Backed by neuroscience, this technique builds students' critical thinking, inquiry and social emotional learning skills. Teachers walk away with a go-to routine for engaging students in rich, vibrant classroom discussions which deepens understanding of content and strengthens personal relationships with students. Up to 3 hours of CTLE - You do not need to attend all three, but you are welcome to in order to strengthen your abilties to facilitate these classroom discussions Dates and Topics: April 25 - Ben Franklin - "It is the first responsibility of every citizen to question authority."
